The SKA Observatory released today the first in a series of data challenges that ask astronomers to manipulate simulated SKA data. The feedback from the astronomers will be used to inform the development of the data reduction procedures in the Science Data Processor, which will deliver data products to the network of SKA regional centers (SRCs). AENEAS and other groups working around the world working  on the design of the regional centers will keep a close eye on astronomer’s responses as plans on advanced data processing via the SRCs are shaping up right now as well.

Astronomers can download the set of data for the first data challenge from https://astronomers.skatelescope.org/ska-science-data-challenge-1/.
